I'm relocating to northeast Indiana by Summer and looking into work near Angola or Fort Wayne. I would like to do home daily and open to doing Yard Jockey if the facility, equipment, and pay is decent. I do have yard jockey experience.

You may be able to get more specific information on a Walmart drivers page about how often that location or a couple other locations nearby generally return to the DC. A friend of mine drives for them out of another close by location and when he is in that area it seems he goes back to that DC after each load. I do know if it is a location where he pulls a refer trailer he goes back to the same DC he picked it up loaded when empty. Not what you asked for specifically, but it may be home daily or home often. Doesn’t hurt to ask them because they seem to still be hiring a lot of drivers. 80E5832C-7410-487D-8F13-EA6A8965A405.png

I have considered Walmart as a possibility for either local driving or Yard Jockey. There might even be a facility in Auburn, IN as well.

I know they built a milk distribution location near Ft Wayne. They have a DC in Gas City Indiana and Coldwater Michigan also. The jobs aren’t generally considered local but if you could get hired at one of the Grocery DC’s you would likely get home more often. I worked for them years ago out of Seymour and certain DC’s went back to the DC more often than others.

If that job is directly employed by Walmart it may be a good job. I don’t have any idea what the yard jobs pay, but the drivers I know who work there are well over $100,000. One of the drivers I talk to every few days made $130,000 last year and that is achievable for most people.
