I envision a horrible outcome as a result of the law of unintended consequences.
Example, 24 between Chattanooga and Nashville.
60% of trucks governed at 68
    40% not limited.
    2 lanes.
Right lane rolling at 65, because there's always that one that's gotta do it.
Left lane doing 70,since it's packed with noon governed trucks, and cars trying like hell to do 90,to spite everyone else.
Road rage is magnified and multiplied exponentially, and wrecks increase dramatically.
Traffic backs up for miles, and nobody gets where they need to go in a timely fashion.
    Body counts skyrocket.
Next step is no trucks left lane.
Which, is generally ignored by trucks that can do it because the right lane or lanes are bogged with governed trucks that can't.
Funny thing is, all this is contrary to the metrics.
I recall a report published not long ago quoting 80% of wrecks involving big trucks were caused by 4 wheelers.
So, given that the presumed root cause is cars, not trucks, better to govern cars instead of trucks.
I still think new drivers need to experience the truckers perspective when getting licensed.
No idea what a viable solution is, but u do know this ain't it.

Might not be tomorrow, but speed limiters are on their way. I will lay "a dollar to a donut".

Keep telling everyone insane people always bank on sane people reacting in a sane or logical manner.

What does The Bible say? If someone asks you to walk a mile, go two.

We should all go," This is a wonderful idea. Let's make it 55, and let's start today."

It will probably come down to a comprise. I predict the speed will be anywhere between 62 and 67 and then the mandate will probably be at least 2 years or better in the future.

We'll see what happens when some of the people that feel they're more important than the rest of us going flying over embankments, or cause some WTF crashes cause they're trying to zoom around these monster packs of trucks.

People think stuff is expensive now? LOL
