Volvo's symbol actually means iron, if anyone cares..
Deport him back to California, lol
Up here we figured out how the term "Merry Christmas" is offensive. Now I wonder how that came about. Changed our national anthem lyrics a little bit a while back.
I should just go live in a cave.

Well. With that theory you’ve narrowed your “good” options down to next to nothing because just about every name plate or logo has or had a circle around it at one time or another. This includes all three engine builders including the old Cat “C”. Lol.

Modern vehicles? Not much lol. Most of them are just various levels of junk. Mack seems the best right now with freightliners western star brand a close second and general weenys a distant third. But these new paccar powered trucks are junk, the ISX ones are better but still pretty meh overall, internationals are cheap plastic and volvos are well volvos. Great until they arent. For 4 wheelers the toyotas and hondas are the most reliable ones left for cars and RAM are the best trucks quality wise at least in MY opinion.
Old school stuff the lineup is WAY diffrent. Give me old iron any day of the week and 99% of them will out pull out last and out reliable any modern plastic truck if they are correctly cared for.
Thats kinda the point. As i said most modern vehicles are junkRockinChair and SmallPackage Thank this. -
WOW! Did that happen today? I am heading to WA with a stop in MT this weekend. Should I take 70 instead of going north to 80 or 90?ducnut Thanks this.

Hate to tell you Mac is the samething as a Volvo these days. All drive line are almost the same. But I do agree those two are the best. HaHa

Not sure when it happened but the eastern part of the state was getting hit again this morning.
Siinman Thanks this. -
I was gonna say….he’s getting a Mack and talking about Volvos and the running gear is basically all the same only a different color.mjd4277, Bean Jr., ducnut and 1 other person Thank this.

HA Ha Yeah I had to laugh a little when he stated that. I know he knows as well but prob did not think to hard on that statement.
A buddy of mine is in Omaha today and was getting some good snow I guess. Was thinking I may just take 70 just to make sure I don't hit that storm. I need to look at some weather maps tonight I guess to figure it out. -
Yes and no. Ive seen a DD16 and MP8 side by side at a local pick and pull. You can tell they came from the same general block but the MP8 is built a lot diffrently and a lot better. Unless you look at them its hard to explain. The DD16 had a lot more rough edges seemed the parts were thinner or smaller and generally had a lot more cast/tool/forge marks on it. The MP8 just looked beefier all around and better put together and the parts looked higher quality and better tolerances. Wish i had taken pictures.
That said the truckitself is where the diffrence is. Ive used both volvo and mack and the macks always felt much more well put together and less like just cheap plastic everywhere. Also squeeked less. But that could all be psychosomatic. Best way i cam explain it is the mack seemed to get all the cherry picked parts and some high wear high abuse areas reinforced. -
Look at the D13 and MP8. They are the same engine.Bean Jr. Thanks this.
