The two neurologists that did the EMG test on 2/8, diagnosed Moderate Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in both hands.

The soonest they could get me an appointment with a hand specialist for consultation is April 14th. So I'm still in limbo.

We did get our house sold on 2/27 and purchased our retirement home on March 1st. So we've been real busy with the move. We're getting close to getting the new place in order.

The VA prescribed a nerve pain medicine called Gabapentin and two wrist braces in early January.

Overall the systems have gotten a little worse. Besides the ongoing pain and stiffness in both hands, and the limited sleep, I now have stinging numbness. So it's gotten more difficult to feel with my hands. I drop everything. My hands are like claws, I can't close them. It's like they're stuck in the position of holding the steering wheel.

I'm disappointed that the VA has no sense of urgency in dealing with this since it makes me unable to work and earn a living.

I probably need to see if there's any kind of federal assistance for this situation.

That’s horrible to hear. Hope they can get you some relief. That’s a nerve blocker.

I wear the wrist braces always at night. I can't get any sleep without them. I can usually get 3 blocks of sleep with them. Usually I'm tired enough to make it around 3 hours at first. Then approximately 2 hours. Then I'm usually up for an hour to an hour and a half to let the pain in my hands and shoulders to calm down. Then I can usually sleep for another 2 to 3 hours.

I wear the wrist braces about half the time in the day time depending upon what I'm doing and how sore my palms are. My palms get pretty sore where the wrist braces cross the palms.

Yeah we moved from our house south of Auburndale to the new house in Lake Alfred. We were about 30 minutes ride to our church in Haines City. Now it's about a 12 minute ride to church.

Yeah, constant nerve pain is certainly a form of torment. And my hands are getting weak. Things I used to have to open for my wife she now has to open for me.

I had both of my carpal tunnel surgeries done at the VA. I’ve never had an issue since. Hope you get some relief soon.
