To start my first mistake was buying a truck from OTR leasing.

The problem - I bought the truck and it seemed to bobtail fine, I started by getting a PM from TA and then the truck had issues starting, the truck began to have long cranking 3 fast cranks and then 3 slow cranks then it would start. The fuel mileage with an empty trailer is a little less than 5mpg. The turbo began to kick in and out when pulling hills, I've had the truck in the shop 7 times spending over 1k everytime and 3 times over 3k, they've put a new turbo on the truck, a new intake valve, new imap sensor, new vpod, new delta p sensor, new crossover tube, did an eloverhead valve adjustment, nothing is fixing my problem.

The problem seems to get a little better after changing the fuel filters but only for a couple hundred miles, it does better but not great at the beginning of the week after sitting for the weekend and worse the longer I drive this might just be a coincidence, I've spent every penny I've had in this thing and at jeopardy of losing my house and everything I have because otr leasing won't let me out of the lease and say they will take the truck and still make me pay the whole balance of the remaining lease. This has been a nightmare and I need suggestions.

    Thank you,

    77fib77 Thanks this.

So I assume that this is a lease purchase?

My advice is this, go to a shop who can put this on a dyno (which you should have before you signed the contract) and see what's going on under a heavy load. The techs will watch everything and could tell you very quickly what the problem is. It isn't going to be cheap but it will help find the problem to fix it.

Recommend you get a pyrometer gauge - and watch the temps on the turbo - cranking issue could be anything from weak compression, starter to a worn out batteries
Mileage on your truck, transmission type , gear ratio - would help - is she consuming oil - injectors- take it to a mechanic who has the software to diagnose the truck. Throwing parts at it - is not going to really help.

The last time I experienced a steep drop in fuel mileage was after I hit a deer and the turbo charge air cooler was damaged.

    Go to lease place.
    Park truck in front entry.
    Go to Walmart.
    Get hired
    Make $100,000 next year.
You lack the cash for this game, and never should have started playing.
If you are 1 repair from losing your house, you are I'll equipped for the o/o game. The rates this year are #### anyway.
Yeah, your credit will take a ding... Who cares

No need for that. One he surrendered the truck they will reach out with a balance due. He then offers 5% of this amount and just waits until they accept it. Bankruptcy would cost a lot more.

That is horrible advice. If he wanted to purchase a home he’d have to wait 2-4 years to apply for a mortgage (if not paying cash). The same for a commercial vehicle loan. Plus the years it would take of building up credit back to a 700.

Not true. 2 years after bankruptcy for an FHA loan.
    Please don't misinform people.

That’s why I said 2-4 years. How is that misinforming people? That said, good luck getting a mortgage or loan after filing for bankruptcy. Note, the bankruptcy can stay on your credit report for 10 years even though it’s discharged.
