They will find some reason to keep your MONEY!!!![]()
This post is for the Central spies, one day someone is actually going to win against you!!
Maybe in May when JJ has his school in SLC I will go with him and stand outside the WVC Terminal handing out forms to all the Lease Ops so they can send them of to the IRS.......The more forms the IRS get the more likely they are to decide that Central don't have any Independent Contractors and they are all Central Employees.

I am about to finalize my deal for going to school for central. As i started reading this thread from post one to the very last post, at first i thought it was a good idea. Then towards the end i have started thinking otherwise. So what i would like to know is if there is anyone on here who has went through their training recently and how it was. And also if there anyone out there still driving for central that could tell me how many miles they are getting and if it is a good company to work for. BTW, i have no exp driving truck so i will be attending their cdl training school. Thanks for the help guys.

training is accelerated, you need to pick it up quick. I am still driving, but im stuck for the year. I have been getting 2400-2800 mi a week and always had 1 or 2 loads preset. That was until my DM quit or got fired..... dont know which. Only my 2nd day with my new DM so I cant say how many miles im getting NOW.

Im STILL sitting here at Supervalu in New Stanton PA. I can see why they dont pay detention for this place. it takes a minimum of 4 hrs to get unloaded! WTF!
-
So would you say that it is worth wile o go with them and stay for the year? I mean, as far as to get the cdl and all then go on to a better place down the road? -
I cant say it is or isn't worth it. It depends on your homelife and mostly you. Family? Kids? finances good? For me, I have been a company driver for a few months and dont find it too bad. But of course i dont have family or kids so low pay doesnt bother me as much as others here. I actually like the travel. But if you need to support a family, you might want to talk it over with them also. Bottom line, it is what it is. A training company to get your foot in the door. For your first couple weeks solo I wouldnt expect too many miles until you prove yourself with your DM with little to no service fails or preventables. Once you establish yourself then your miles should increase.

I've come to the conclusion that Supervalu and Freddy DCs hate Central. Im the last to leave yet again even when I was here before the others.

Isn't fun when you're running mt. Be careful. Finally ran into good weather. Of all places Oklahoma and Dodge City. Waiting at the J for Carghill to load me for CA and maybe hometime?

Here I thought it was just me. Didn't think about the Central "connection" hmmmmm

I too have recently (Oct 09) completed CDL and (Nov) the ride with trainer. Central's is one of the fastest program to get you on the road by yourself. Depending on your abilities and desire to learn this can be a good way to get going. If Navigation, road skills and a positive attitude are not your repertoire then trucking through any source may not be for you.
I am choosing to stay company, get the OTR pay the man and then decide what is best course. For myself it has been good. It isn't perfect but has played out about how I expected with a few surprises. For anyone whose been around especially in the military it is about typical.
