I didn’t know it survived. It’s sad that it’s in this shape, but at least it’s not a total loss. Someone needs to launch a rescue mission and get it into a museum or possibly restored.

That video popped up in my YouTube feed, and now I keep seeing all kinds of stuff on it. I did find some interior shots, it has a pretty cool looking ####pit. It looks like it even had a phone in the center console.

It’d be a cool addition to the Iowa 80 Museum.

But honestly it’d be better off in someone else’s hands. I’d like to see it in a museum and maybe reconditioned so it can go on tours. I don’t want it to suffer the fate of the GM Motorama buses, or Ford’s Big Red.

there are a few of them left. Dave Kindig from #####ing Rides restored one and another sold for 4 million at Barrett Jackson in 2015.

Mmmm, want to lick the candy!

Also, completely unsafe and impractical but I love the front doors and stairs leading up to the “bridge/####pit”, it’s just so different than traditional trucks. I’d like to climb up there once.

(really? The “little room on an airplane where the pilots sit” is censored? Sheesh.)

Also, $4mill? I wonder how much it would cost to scratch build one? Okay, fine, off the shelf engine, transmission and suspension unless it’s some really weird unique gauge, but to fab the chassis, body and trim? Gotta be less than $4mil right?

There's a lot of classic vehicles you could replicate for much less than the cost to buy. It's all about provenance. They want to be the guy who owns a real one and pay a premium for it.

Also yes I find it hilarious every time the forum censors ####pit. There's even a name for the problem named after a British town Scunthorpe.
