Hate to be harsh here, but the picture of the truck, not worth much. It is in need of a lot of restoration work. The engine is where the value is. Unless he has original paper work on the rebuild, that will lower the value. The only way to verify the engine is what it’s claimed, is to run the serial number and casting codes, If it is correct, the engine could be worth up to 30k to the right buyer.

I walked by it last summer but never really looked at, didn’t give it any thought then. What I seen didn’t look bad though.

He told me today that the engine serial number and the truck serial number are like 1 month apart, and the truck shows that engine block in it when manufactured originally. As I said earlier I don’t have any knowledge of these electronic Cats, so I’m lost lol….

Can’t say I blame, I wouldn’t want to give that much for an older truck neither, unless it was a unique truck like a A model or 359 with a KT600 and a set of dash slappers in it …..;)

Yea that 10 spd is a big turnoff to me, I’m thinking it has the 400 series suspension, but I only glanced at it last year when I walked passed it….

They actually had a engine brake, and exhaust brake available. Some like,.some did not. I was not impressed.

I didn't like all the push in coolant tubes. Lasted for ever. But once you touched one. You touched all of them.

Went and looked at this yesterday— C15 acert with 1.8 m on the truck, 450k on overhaul, 18 speed— offered $25k and got laughed at

Well remember, I'm only working with a half sized engine, & half the trans most y'all got.! Lol:D

At 29,800 with a Series 60, ole 2 Lane James would be lighter than I if we had the same motor..

How long you been up that way?

July 98 is when they were first introduced so definitely not many were pre eld motors.

Supposed to have higher nickel content in the iron making the blocks much stronger. But acert blocks are stronger still and run a much better water pump which keeps temps under control alot better. Ideal motor would be a bxs block and rotating assemby with lower comp pistons and a 6nz head, manifold, and turbo. Marine cam, 58 injectors, and a 7cz tune file are supposedly the magic combo for 800+ hp. At least from what I've been able to read and find.
