Hey, seeing how everyone feels about the issue I have going on. A little over a month ago I had my injector cups replaced which the mechanic said he knew 100% it was that. A month later I am still getting coolant out of the separator. He did not empty the tanks told me it would take some fill ups to get it all out of the system. So currently I had a heater bunk hose to pop and lower radiator hose to be replaced also (leak). The mechanic i have it with now is also draining the tanks to ensure it’s not the head. The mechanic said maybe it’s residual and he drained about 4 gallons out of it.

Coolant is heavier than fuel, so it will settle to the bottoms of the tanks. There are tank drain plugs that can be removed to help drain out any coolant still there. The injector cup thing is a known issue. It is either that or a leak in the fuel water separate filter housing if the housing is heated by return fuel. Drain out the tank bottoms and retest it.

The housing will have regular engine supply lines going to it for filtering, then it will have a second pair of lines for the heated part. These will be either hot return fuel or coolant. Just have to follow the lines to see where they connect to determine fuel or coolant.

@Heavyd hey man had the tanks drained and tried to run it a little under quarter tank. A small amount came out of coolant came out separator which is expected for a while. The thing that I see now is after I ran today and let truck sit a couple hours about a half of gallon was missing from coolant jug. It’s been like that for the last couple weaks. The Lower radiator house does have a wetness around it and also I think more is used while the inside a/c (heat ) is on. I’m not totally sure where the coolant is going.

Remove the egr cross over pipe and check to see if it is wet inside. Could be a failed egr cooler.
