We all met up the next day at Stevens all of us was pretty wore out from the trip But the safety guy gave us a long drawn out speech about how lucky we all were to be hired by Stevens.Man none of us could care less we just wanted to go to bed.We were all experienced hands this was before the trainee trucker days and we had all heard this BS before and didn't believe it anyway.
So than Mitch started in on me wanting my receipts for gas.I gave him what I had it came up to 45 bucks. So he gets to nit picking about 5 dollars.I said I thought I had another receipt in my pu truck and would have it the next day.
So the next day between Mitch and his office girl I was asked several times for the receipt and I just told em to forget it.Man they squealed like pigs and started apologizing and I said save your breath AMF.
I drove across Dallas over to Grand Prairie where TSMT had a terminal I was road testing for them the same day.Sorry for the long story it a weakness with me. -
Received just this afternoon...after telling them over the phone when they called again about two weeks ago that I was in training with Stevens still and not interested...
I also still get calls/emails from Werner, Knight and USXpress even after telling them I'm happy with Stevens so far and am not interested.

And I'm sure folks who talked to Stevens once or twice and didn't have something nasty in their recent or current records, but didn't go with them, get emails from Stevens too.
These companies have such high turnover! So many don't get cleared through DOT, can't pass the classes, or turn out to not like living on the road despite being aware of that part of it beforehand. Not to mention getting fired for this or that. -
I love how people will come in, post about there experience from 21 years ago, about someone who is not even with the company anymore.
Oh well, it is what they experienced with Stevens. Just how relevant is it?
For a non-trucker looking to start trucking, all companies are required by FMSCA to verify your last three years of employment, with NO gaps. Stevens does it with the W-2's. They must have a physical record in your qualification file to hire you.
And for the guy complaining about $5.00, if they had shorted you $5 on your pay check, you would have fought them to get your $5 dollars, so them wanting your receipt for $5 is the same thing, they wanted proof you spent the money. -
Thank you Smokr, I'll be on the bus tomorrow morning at 7:10 be in Mesquite by 1:00. Getting nervous now Lol, but not backing down.

I've really enjoyed reading through this thread. I'm not sure if they're a good option for someone living in Tulsa, but for now, I'm going to add them to my short list of companies to train with. Thanks for all the helpful posts.
KCJ Thanks this. -
One thing to keep in mind is that we go through Tulsa very often. You'll have plenty of opportunities to stop by the house on your way through.
Fyr Thanks this.
