Does it Make Sense to Do Hazmat Tank as a Team?

I was talking to a company recruiter, and they told me about a job I didn't see listed on their website. They don't have any mention of running tankers on their website, but he said it's a hazmat tanker team driving job. Says each driver would make $130,000-140,000 every year, which is probably BS.
I don't doubt that the money would be decent though.

What I'm curious though is how practical it would be? Wouldn't the shippers and receivers want to wake up the co-driver from the sleeper or even make them get out of the truck?

Most major chemical companies won’t let anyone stay in the truck while loading or unloading

I was also thinking the shippers and receivers are probably only open during daylight hours, which might mean lots of downtime.

They might be doing terminal to terminal with local drivers doing the loading and delivery.

I know at the beginning of covid LGT was running teams CA to Texas for carbon dioxide. I think some of the majors run teams for cryo and other industrial gases. You might try talking to LGT or KAG for a better answer

Air Products, Linde, Messer, And Airgas all run teams. And the good thing about hydrogen teams is each driver makes 125k plus.

As for those drop and hook otr tanker companies. Im sure each driver would get half of the 130k-140k.

But hazardous waste companies have teams also. Like Robbie D Wood or Hazmat Environmental Group. But the total pay is cut in half also.

But as for a shipper or receiver not wanting the co driver in the truck. You wouldn't have to worry about that in the cryo world.

While we don't pickup loads at many plants that load at night, we sure deliver to a bunch of them. A lot of chemical tank loads go to various manufacturing plants and they take raw material deliveries at all hours of the day. And night.
