What’s up guys. Cryo driver here for Air Products. We’re also going to be building a huge hydrogen plant in Texas. More towards Wichita Falls, TX area. I think La Porte has two facilities right across from each other. From what I was told drivers start their day at the plant were they park their trucks and have to drive across the street to get loaded lol
RockinChair, Another Canadian driver, scott180 and 2 others Thank this. -
Not uncommon AirProducts Santa Fe springs and Long Beach are setup similar out here in California. You park at a terminal/yard then drive right down the street to the plant.Another Canadian driver and viper822004 Thank this.

What seems strange to me is when most buy property for a new plant they get just over what the plant footprint requires.
Ours is on a part shutdown for repairs/maintenance so we've been loading some trucks at the new Airgas plant just a few miles away and they are so tight on the build you need to back into the fill zone/scales even though it was planned as a pull thru.Another Canadian driver, viper822004 and Cali kid Thank this. -
Even with companies with awesome reputations you still need research the specific terminals reputation. I didn't and boy was I sorry. A toxic work environment just isn't worth the pay no matter how good. Look at the seniority list and if you see that they can't keep a driver then you need to ask why. Also be careful of team driving. If your teammate has a day of seniority over you they just need to say the word and your off the truck. Cryo work is great, just find a place that you can retire from and enjoy.

We got a guy who works for AP and fills out of our plant.
I guess they screwed him out of some type of bonus. He quit and went over to a competitive plant.
Starting working and butted heads w the manager. Next thing he's back at his old job w loss of seniority.
Always have a backup plan.Albertaflatbed, scythe08, Another Canadian driver and 3 others Thank this. -
Sounds like he should have just left all together.Another Canadian driver and Dennixx Thank this.
