I see loads with really low rates posted on them . I bid on a expedited load today on a broker’s bidding site, they came back with a low counter I waiting about 20 minutes then removed offer. Are brokers telling their customers “ it’s hard to find trucks” ?

Brokers are in competition with each other as well... a shipper who only cares about cost may play them off each other so they will first give it to the cheapest broker and if it doesn't move he gives it to the next one, up the list he goes until it gets moved.

Although some will lead you to believe the broker bids it for $8 a mile then offers the truck 1.25 and instead of coughing up perhaps 3.00 it's smarter to tell the customer it's hard to find trucks...:biggrin_25520:
