I hear Hard Drive

You gonna report me to for using these radios as CB’s too ?

 

The first day I hooked up the Anytone quad 6 with a Wilson 5k magnet mount on my for wheeler, I was talking on Skip to Oklahoma from Commiefornia.

 

I tag @rabbiporkchop cuz he makes his own personal antennas also.

 

No need to experiment when modeling software works just fine

 

I never really thought about it, I would think it would be better because the bandwidth is thinner and the efficiency is higher. I stopped doing a lot of vhf/uhf dx, I did some 10g and 22g stuff but that was when I had access to elevated locations. I have my setup for EME taken down but planned on putting it back up soon.

I don't think it would matter at a full wavelength, 1/2 should be good enough.

Why?

Copper will flex too much and won't stand up to the windload. while K is thicker, it seems at 22 feet radiator which is needed for a 5/8, it will bend easily.

 

The only one I have reported or have any interest in reporting is "Mud Duck" or as he sometimes calls himself "Hard Drive"

 

That's why you strengthen it and I will be making radials as well. Something of that length will need radials.

 

Awww come on man! You’ve never peeled open one of your 2m radios and knocked off a resistor or two and go mess with the Canadian trucks on one of the LADD frequencies? Or your local old school drive thru? Or an elderly couple in the car next to you listening to the local Christian station?
