1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

I have not driven a truck in almost 3 years. I had the obligation and privlege of taking care of my elderly mother after my fathers death in 2007. My mother has also passed away since. My former employer "Heartland Express" does not see things the same way I do. Other companies I have applied for have given me the cold shoulder also. I am looking for an O/O that has another truck or wants to take a break for a while in the SouthWest regional district. Anyone know anyone or have any ideas?

I live in Carlsbad, right down the road from you. Swift has a Hazmat teaming position open out of Fontana if you wanted to use it to build some seat time.. I'd possibly be interested in teaming for the short term; they make you find your own teammate. I've applied everywhere with a similar situation to yourself.

    ElectricFence Thanks this.

Hi, I am having a somewhat similar deal. I left an 8 year tractor trailer career at FedEx in 2001 to open my own business. The economy has made that not even worth doing anymore and I am trying to get back in a truck and it seems that no one will even respond to my applications. I am in the process of getting a DOT Phys and Haz mat back. I hope that helps. Tips would be apprecitated. I live near St. Louis

I tried calling Saturday Chris right after I read your post. The extension system did not allow me to get in and leave a message. I will try again Monday and monitor this thread in the mean while. I am very interested and looking forward to talking about this position further. Sorry I am not yet permitted to send private messages via this site yet. Kurt
