I see some companies provide TV service. However, for those that do not, how do you guys get Internet for your Firestick and iPad? Also, do you guys do word searches or play online video games? If you do, how do you get Internet to the truck without going over your data limits on cell phone plan?

Unlimited data on my 3 cell phones. I do need to get a new iPad with unlimited data.
I listen to a lot of books on audible. I watch a lot of educational type videos on you tube and listen to a lot of music. Read books , magazines , newspapers. Have lifetime siriusxm to listened. I haven't touched video games since I was about 14 years old. I thought that I would miss watching sports because I don't have a TV but really haven't miss TV at all.

But I do consider myself an old person so I don't think we need the entertainment that younger people seem to need.

Get an unlocked hotspot, this is the one I used. As long as you have an unlocked hotspot you can use whatever provider you'd like that provides unlimited data for hotspots/tablets. I've been local for a few years now but when I was driving OTR I used OTRMobile.com for service, back then they offered AT&T service but it wasn't something AT&T offered directly. These days it looks like they offer Verizon sim cards for $79 a month. You can bring your own hotspot and get a simcard from them here

I genuinely hope you find a job with a carrier that genuinely & consistently affords you the time to pursue "entertainment"....while you are out on the road.

At my last job pulling "boxes"....their schedules/dispatching were so frickin' tight that they only allowed time for eating, sleeping, a 30-minute DOT break, driving....and looking for a place to park.

    Lather, rinse...& daily repeat.

Tmobile has an ulimited data plan. With unlimited mobile hotspot. Take a gaming laptop with you on the road to play video games and watch the internet. Tv always seems to be in the way when not in use.

Smartphone hotspot will allow you to run a Fire Stick or other such devices. It pays to get service on ATT or Verizon. I used Xfinity Mobile and was pretty happy a ross the USA.

I had a 12" tv with built in DVD player and an unpowered antenna that lived behind the cab on a telescopic painter's pole. Within 50 or so miles of a city there were several channels available and I always enjoyed the local programming in whatever random place I stopped.

You don’t even need an internet connection to play games if they’re already installed on the hardware.
