Has the forum received a lot of requests from the drivers? This just really chaps my hide man. I see a few post they made it back. I just found this out today as I haven't been reading much here lately. Any update on the status of them or anything?

    Baack Thanks this.

I talked with a friend of mine who drove for Arrow (until yesterday). He was stuck in Portland,Or. with the truck and trailer, and had not enough fuel even to idle for very long. He received a qualcomm message to bring the truck to freightliner.
He sent a message back that he had NO fuel, that he was way into empty.
He said that Arrow then said to bring it there by yesterday, or he will be charged with the theft of the vehicle!
Unbelievable! They would not authorize fuel.
So my friend sold everything he could off of the truck, and bought a bus ticket home to Sacramento. Good for him!

That QC message can be used in a court of law. I hope he got the serial number off the back of the QC. He can call Qualcomm and get a record of all communications to that unit. Let a judge see that and Arrow can go suck...... well.... you know where I'm going.

Ya know if I was in this situation I would so tell the company off. I don't go for being un-professional on the QC but in this case I would have gone off. I'd called them everything i could think off and told them " you want the truck and trail, Come get them. Not my problem." Grab me a bus and left. Companies are always tell drivers how it's "there" truck. Well that makes it there problem to recover it then.

They could try pressing theft charges. I honestly dont think it would go past the officer coming and knocking on your door (probably waking you up) and you explaining things before Arrow, or the person who called them at least would be getting false filing against them. Clearly its not theft on anybodys part but Arrows. It is their responsibility to provide every single drop of fuel that goes into their company "owned" vehicles. Poor stupid Arrow, probably couldnt even afford anymore letters in their own darn company name!

Or, write down the QC numbers, be polite, let Arrow dig their own grave, then drive off, and TRY to make it run out of fuel, preferably in the middle of a large, busy intersection. QC for a wrecker, and smile wide as you let the cops read the QC messages. Wonder what Arrow will think of the tow bill for a police rotation heavy wrecker impound of their truck and trailer?

Now that's funny! I like the idea! 'cept a cop would probably cite him for obstructing traffic. Unless they had some compassion for the situation the drivers were in.
The tow bill and storage fees would probably be astronomical! And that would be real justice!:biggrin_255:

Yup, put the dispatcher/breakdown guy on the spot. Ask flat out, "if I don't go because I'm afraid of running out of fuel, will I get fired?"A HUGE red flag to watch for, is when they tell you to go find a phone and call in, so there's no record of what they told you to do in the qualcomm. Next message, "Just to recap the phone conversation, you want me to drive a truck with no heat, no fuel, bad brakes, whatever to where?"

After 10 years of heavy towing, I think i have seen about all the crap that a dispatcher can pull, lying to drivers. Teams left in a dead truck in Wyoming, in Jan, for 36 hours before a wrecker was called (and after the load was repowered).

Screw with me, I call 911. "Hello, I'm freezing, it's 100*+ and I have no water, whatever. I need an ambulance, my health is at risk"
