Who are you looking to work for? I've been doing hydro excavating around Ohio and Pennsylvania for 20 years.

Did it for 3 days. Hated it.

Nice I’m looking at getting into that line of work , this piece of equipment is starting to become very popular with no utility strikes

I’m guessing you’re out in the extreme but if you invest in breathable water proof jacket and trousers it helps I come from a construction Background so being out in the elements isn’t a botherOxbow Thanks this.

They also use those type rigs to clean out drain manholes etc. I was on a jobsite where they used one to excavate inside the basement of a building. Definitely an interesting piece of equipment.

Yes I always enjoyed the work. Even in the winter if you dress right it's not bad. And of course working outdoors in the summer can't be beat. Have you ever heard of badger daylighting? They pay about 35 an hour over in this region and belong to the operating engineers union. Cleveland and of Pittsburgh area

Have you priced out these units (looks like you want to buy one based on your posts)?
8 year old units around me are listed at $250k to $325k. I'd be willing to bet brand new are pushing half a mill these days.
