Unused CDL A Question

Thank you guys, especially you Chinatown. I haven’t had a chance to reply back yet. My mother-in-law had an emergency surgery tonight. I’ll be sure to be checking up on these responses tomorrow during my break at work and afterwards. Just wanted to say I appreciate the responses and everything. Stay safe out there.

 

I will. Would you suggest you wait til my hearing exemption arrives or just go ahead and start the applications?

 

Ok guys, so I recieved my Hearing Exemption in the mail late yesterday. Ran to the DMV right before it closed, to have my CDL updated but was told I have to wait til the 21st of this month (next Friday) as my Exemption doesn’t take effect until that date (April 21st 2023). I’m anxious to get started calling so I’m all over the net checking out the companies Chinatown pointed me to and just about ready to start making calls. I’m wanting a company that’ll take me in, re-train/teach me since I’ve never used my CDL A since obtaining it thru trucking school two years ago (parole officer during the pandemic told me I would be able to get into CDL school and travel upon completion of class but then when I got my license I was assigned a different parole officer who then told me I couldn’t cross state lines yet). I went in (prison) 2014, got out 2018 and got off parole 2022. Anyway, should I go ahead and call all these companies and ask questions or should I wait til my Exemption goes in effect next Friday?
