Plug into ecm

If you own a truck with a cat, yes you can change your speed and cruise and all that. I took a screen shot of the screen where you change all that and opened up where to just change speed. But as you can see you can change everything. Afew things say unavailable becuase i went into trainer mode instead of hooking up to my truck. ITs late and i have been dinking. to tired to walk out to truck

 

So what is the source for the cat et software , im in need of the same things for playing with my 05 mxs

Go to heavytrucksoftware.net I got hooked up wit cat et 2021 for a very reasonable fee. The best part was that he installed it for me remote. I am not the best with computers and he took over my laptop and set it all up. You will need a interface. There are several options out there.

 

Hi, i have a 1996 3406e w a 6 pin port under the dash. What is the least expensive but good, ie not chinese, cable i can get to hook from laptop to ecm port? Most ive seen have a vga type connection to the laptop, looks like it connects to the laptop where youd hook a second monitor. I was just at a shop and he showed me one that connected using a usb cable w the 6 and 9.

 

Not suggesting going this route, but if you google, "cracked Caterpillar ecm software"

 

I have a BXS that’s a pretty stout engine and everything in it is Cat. I changed injectors and things, but if youre not looking for stupid hp and can get your hands on the early Australian market 550 file, that one runs beautiful. You’d probably be pretty happy with that, just be careful when you get up high, there’s no altitude compensation in it. Same as N.America, the later files suck like the LowNox files they were upgrading to here. If your ecm was polluted with that file you’re stuck with it, until PDI or Diesel Spec or someone makes it go away.

I bought a cat com 3 and I can't get it to connect to any of my trucks. My buddy nexiq works argh.
They are all 6 pin ports.

Then I get this which says the adapter is only setup for cdl j1939 but my trucks are 6 pins I'm stumped

Do I need to buy the genuine cat 6 pin to 9 pin so the adapter will see cdl j1939??? PLEASE HELP ANYONE
