I'm looking to purchase a 06 Columbia glider with a 1997 12.7 Detroit. My question is will ELD work with this engine?

An ELD works on my 96 Detroit in my 2015 Pete Glider. The ELD plugs in to the back side of the data port that the techs hook a computer to when diagnostic tests are done.
