Hello all. I've held my CDL for 15 years and have rarely used it for work. Like 3 times a season I drive a truck. My work season is April-December with 3 months off. Do I need to keep a log for 365 days a year? Do I need to keep one for my 9 months on the clock just for the purpose of driving a few times or can I just fill out a book with with 7 prior days on the rare occasion I drive? Thank you for any and all replies. Safe travels to yall.

Just the 7 day prior for a casual driver like you. Keep it simple. Here is a link to a free 7 day form for intermittent drivers like you, directly from the FMCSA. Fill this out and then start a log for the day you start driving. https://csa.fmcsa.dot.gov/safetypla...cord_First Time_Intermittent Drivers_508.pdf
