How much gets pushed off the front of it when you hook up to a trailer?

Grease salesman or an oil change shop tell you that isn't enough?
Looks fine.
Do you drop your air when hooking up, raise it when you are under, then pin up so as to trap it where it's supposed to he? And how often do you change trailers? I almost never drop mine and also why I do the air drop and raise, keeps it in there longer. Can feel it in the steering if it needs more, happens in less time/distance in warm/hot weather. Same as the rest of the truck in that regard.bryan21384, MACK E-6, Keepforgettingmypassword and 7 others Thank this. -
That is NOT too little. It is very adequate regardless of Trailer.
I used to make run from Greensboro, NC, I-85, departed Fridays around noon with a stop in South Car at exit 56, then to Forest Park, Ga. east side loop watermelon 400. Maybe stay over to Sat., then I-20 to Rt 80 To 635, then local roads to Coppell, TX. Overnight on door, then Drop for 24-36 hours and back to Trailer lube the 5th, drop air and creep back, get out and look, and air up, lock pin, and good to go back to ATL, then GSO.
EVERY TIME I DROPPED ANY TRAILER I lubed the 5th, even other somebodies trailer. I wanted the Glide Ride. Summer, Winter, Lubed.
YOU'RE IN EXCELLENT SHAPE. Don't let the detritus drivers distract your views and experiences.

Squirt in the jaws and never grease above that line. It will make its way after some turns. Anything above that ends up on cat walk. You can take a scrapper or cardboard lid and scrap edges off, removing old grease. Helps to stay clean. Also fill up a old 20oz pop bottle with grease. Put in side box. Easy to squeeze out and stay clean when you need it and away from shop. -
Looks good. I can tell because it’s not dry at all in any spots. You obviously grease it often. I use about twice as much. Usually half a tube, squeezed out by hand, Buttered over the whole thing. Raising Trailer, Dropping suspension, getting under it first, before lowering Trailer raising suspension to avoid a mess. Only reason I use more, is because I rarely drop it, and forget to grease it. I also had a sloppy fifth wheel. And wanted to use just enough to protect the Trailers apron, and avoid feeling i the slop. Id use about the same amount as you. As long as you never find it with dry spots, it’s plenty and often enough. Based on my techniques for running the sloppy fifth wheel, doing your way is sufficient, but a little bit more, makes a difference in ease of movement. I’d feel the slop using more grease. I’ve since replaced my fifth wheel. Back to using about twice as much as you. A little more doesn’t hurt. Too much can easily be seen as build up around the fifth wheel. It can be cleaned off easy enough. Personally, I’d use at least a little bit more.
