I made more than that the last few years, but it depends on your terminal and cost of living. Some terminals may only work you 50 hours a week and some are closer to 70. We get a raise every April. I'm home daily with the occasional layover. Long hours but easy clean work. I haven't worked at other cryo companies, but it sure beats chemical tankers.
We do have the new AI cameras but I have not heard about any drivers being fired, especially 100. If you follow other cars too closely all the time or roll through stop signs, you will lose your safety bonus. The main thing is just don't touch your phone unless parked. I have no other cryo companies to compare them to, but I am happy here.Speedy Sailor, ThatGasDude, Another Canadian driver and 2 others Thank this. -
I also love where I am at. Love the culture they’ve established here and I also believe that a lot has to do with management and how they see you as a driver. A lot of managers suck big time and they’re the reason for the high turnover rates.snowbird_89, Another Canadian driver, RockinChair and 2 others Thank this. -
AL/Airgas are 2nd largest to Lin/Prax and AL was great before the buyout of Airgas. Afterwards AL let airgas take over transportation. And several AL guys quit or retired early. The AL guys took a pay cut. But the airgas guys got a sizable raise. Airgas would be ok if Chris didn't hate drivers so much.
Having ppl hide in bushes to try and catch a driver not using cones and chocks is ridiculous!!! If a CDL holder met the hiring criteria to come aboard. Then why threaten the person with 5 pages of termination offenses? Just leave the driver be and they can get some work done!!! If adults drive trucks then why treat them as kids?Last edited: Apr 6, 2023

I’ve had zero issues here at AL/AG do they have rules yes, do they have cameras yes. It’s all about your manger’s and whether or not they have a backbone. Best ones I’ve ever, and continue to have were former drivers themselves. Was the same way at AP, worked there five years had zero write ups. I was there before and after they had inward facing cameras as well.
What’s scared me more then anything is the contractor’s who have very little training when it comes to the hazards of the job!Last edited: Apr 6, 2023

Linde, Portland. I had left to move back to the coast, but my housing situation changed2 months ago.(Almost no extra housing out there unless you are wealthy or know people, neither is me) There are some other issues that I wont go into.
It may be a few weeks before I start. I still have to find an apartment and it sounds like they are really slow right now. The Refinery that supplies us with what we need to make our CO2 is on a 5-7 week shutdown for maintenance, so apparently its causing all sorts of drama. I may wait and sit that out before coming back.Last edited: Apr 8, 2023
