Somehow I have collected another box of things for Bethany. There is a baby bed mobile. All sorts of small blankets. Of course, several more packages of newborn Pampers. Papa added a baby monitor. All sorts of things to put on her after a diaper change. In the morning I will go ship it to them. One of the funniest things is baby hats that say GO ARMY!

I am happy to report Baby and Mother are all doing OK. Dad finally got back to work.

Last thing in the whole world I'd ask a woman to do is mess with this kind of stuff.

Per Mr. Luther McKissack, who taught welding at Itawamba Community College. "You have to burn a lot of rod....."

We had sold him a used forklift. He wanted to add a side sifter. Tony; one of my partners, had the hose reel positioned and clamped to the upright.
Mr. Luther dropped in to check on delivery and was standing there talking. Tony commented that he might want to weld that himself so he would be sure it would stay on...Mr. Luther only asked, "Is that where you want it to stay." Tony said yes...

Mr. Luther turned and picked up a helmet; snugged up the head band, clipped in a rod nearly straight out and proceeded to weld the bottom of the bracket.
Took another 2 rods, bent them, and welded the sides. Flipped the helmet up and told Tony. You get up on the head guard to do the top, the bottom will be there, I don't climb anymore. From the time he struck the first arc (other than changing rods) till he finished, it sounded like bacon frying at a steady temp...
And this was overhead at a good arms length above is head to the work. Some people can weld. All others need the torch taken and their axx kicked.

In this circumstance I would disagree. Dave is not working a garden plot that has been tended off and on for generations. That is untamed desert wilderness that Dave is trying to submit to the OM's will.

He probably should be issued a small yard tractor by the OM. Sounds like the OM may be in DI mode and determined that the human has to do it manually for the human's long term health.

Hopefully none of you will ever have to know THE HORROR of weeding after the wettest recorded winter ever.

I think it a biological fact. Women are better suited for yard work than men.
