Actually, loading, passing thru to load.
Dad and his twin brother worked at the Stoneville Experiment Station for a few years before returning to the hills. I laughed. My Uncle Ad told of him and daddy running away from home at age 12 and going to Webb, MS to log with their uncle Billy Barton. I said, Uncle Ad what did you log in the Delta, the trees in the plantation houses yards. His reply was: Back then the MS Delta was a Cypress Swamp. We have leftover relatives in the delta. One of them; John Durham, was the high sheriff of Washington county (Greenville) as long as he wanted.

In 7/54 to 7/55 I was driving for Tom Riddell in Canton, MS. Mainly bale cotton from as far in LA as W. Monroe, AR W. Helena up to Blytheville, MO from Steele, TN from Dyersburg area and all the MS delta any town that had a compress.

From load point to the cotton mills stretching across AL, GA, SC, NC and as far up as Danville, VA.

Typically, our MS bales ran 500 to max 550 pounds. Some of the gins pressed a little harder, so Marks, MS was known for its 550 minimum. Think of 62/<550 running 34K a typical order and at Marks 62/<600 at 37K. 34’ flatbeds with 1 psc. tarp. (Riddell donated to MVC Comptroller election)

Hauled lots of feed and fertilizers in conjunction with the mainline cotton.

    Serous...
I would have thought that it could rain hard, all day, and the sand/rocky/DRY soil I saw along old 80 bake your boots.
Of course, chill you at night. Weird as in Awesome?

I think women are better suited for a lot of chores/work than most "men". And a lot of "men" won't man up and get it done.......

I kinda question why the women don't keep anything other than a small select breading herd of men around.

The weeding has concluded for the day. The weeder is cooked like a sausage.

Teeth cleaning tomorrow, so there may or may not be weeding.
