worked for them for 3 years, didn't have hardly any of that. Just moved on because the pay wasnt that great but I needed to come off the road at the time and they gave me a job. It's what you make of it.

Also...yard king (I never call 'em yard dogs cuz they have power!) Yard King is the guy I count on to point where I need to go, let me know if an empty is available or about to be, and a life saver to lift a trailer I can't get out or that was cranked too high.
All hail the new King, @Opus.Atlanta trucker, LtlAnonymous, Lonesome and 8 others Thank this. -
I don't want to add to Val's "Encouragement" but I looked at Lazer Sop two different times. I passed for several reasons.
One of them was the work week schedule & pay.
I know they pay by the hour. At the time(s) I talked to them, they worked like 28 hrs one week & like 80+ hours the next week. They did this to utilize a loop hole in the wage & hour law where they didnt have to pay OT for the week you work 80+ hrs because they paid like every 2 or 3 weeks or something and it put you at average hours or something. It was a crazy set up that allowed them to get around OT.
I was told, you must start on nights & they go by seniority for day positions. So, if there is 15 people on days, 15 people have to quit before you even get asked.
I cant remember everything but, I know for me... in my situation, it wasn't event on the scale of consideration.
At the end of the day, just because Jim does, don't mean that John does. So, best wishes my friend, I hope you have as good of luck with LS as you did with Schneider.LtlAnonymous, Lonesome, BennysPennys and 3 others Thank this. -
Pro-tip, don't mention anything about it if you intend to keep your job. Either report to DOL or keep your mouth shut. Ask me how I know, but surely if you tell them "I am going to report you for this", end result is you being jobless.LtlAnonymous and BennysPennys Thank this. -
36 one week 48 the next.
It's a weird 3 on 2 off 12 hour shifts.
It's all good, guys. I like the local folks. Perhaps corporate isn't so great or your local place isn't so great, but the people down here are pretty friendly.
Oddly, one of the things that impressed me the most was the "inclusion, discrimination, sexual harassment" whatever declaration thingy they make you sign that was in pure language and summed up to essentially, "don't be an ***hole".
I like people like that.JoeyJunk, LtlAnonymous, mickeyrat and 11 others Thank this. -

I've noticed the attitudes of Lazer spot drivers varies and depends on location .
One place I deliver to frequently in Plainfield Indiana the Lazer spot drivers are crabby and the turnover is sky high but this because the company they are contracted to treats the spotter drivers like slaves .BennysPennys, austinmike and JoeyJunk Thank this. -
Man, stinks to throw away what you know & seemingly love for "greener" pastures and all that entails.
To bad you couldn't find something to supplement your slow freight income and keep Schneider?
Good luck on your new adventures and love the attitude. Change is never easy and you're already winning.Opus, BennysPennys, UturnGirl and 1 other person Thank this.
