I worked at FFE 3 different times in the 90's. The last time, they searched me out to ask me to come back, which I did. (for American Eagle, their dry van division) They were and still are well established. Founded in 1946, the same year I was born ! In the Stubbs family until son Russell I guess sold out or merged with KLLM. They have established accounts, decent equipment, lots of real estate. Pay was fair and on time. But, things can change over the years, right ?

when Russell sold out all the sub companies in the FFE world went out. AE,Lisa/MTC,GW. That was sad. I worked for Lisa/MTC in the mid 90's. Loved it over there and made good money for being my first trucking company. Sad to see them go.

I don’t know about recommending a dairy job for a new driver.Have you ever did it if not. It’s farm pick ups drive way on rural roads a lot of times no signs looking for addresses some farms you’re backing off the road down a quarter mile dirt driveway at night, farmers milk every day weekend holidays doesn’t matter you work let alone the new guy you’re working nights and weekends.Burgermeister1836 Thanks this.

Western Dairy Transport is comfortable with new drivers, that's why they have their own cdl school.

You'll want to avoid the "contract" if at all possible. Millis - don't waste your time. FFE - not really. KLLM - h*ll no.Burgermeister1836 Thanks this.

What’s that got to do with my post?

Thanks for all the replies, I'm talking with WDT right now and have a couple of backup options available.
That's ok, because the tougher it is to start with the better of a driver I'll be when it comes to everything else I end up doing. My first serious job was 5 years in corrections and I feel like that has made everything else seem easier in life, from the long hours/nights/holidays to hurry up and wait to putting up with bs. I understand that this is an investment of harder time that'll lead to easier, more prosperous years ahead. But thank you for the forewarning.Chinatown Thanks this.
