Gotta love the blame everybody else mentality. And the disclaimer "do your research"

I’ve had lumber try to slide out from middle of bundle..that’s why you x strap the front to prevent that from occurring
Trucker Paul and buddyd157 Thank this. -
I’ve hauled a lot of lumber in my days and still do off and on. For starters, where’s the “Headboard” on the cab? The pictures didn’t show how many straps were on the load either. When I was watching the loader load me, and if I saw some slick wood or loose bundles, I would throw a 2x4 on top of the unit(on a angle) to tighten the middle of the unit and tie down the crap out of it. I would get my winch bar and tap (hard) the front or back to make sure there were no loose sticks in the middle. However, this individual seems to blame the “other guy”, you have to remember what your carrying and always be prepared for the unexpected.

Thats the best thing i found to do when i was loading lumber type stuff of flatbeds, 1 strap around the middle with dunnage spread as far as possible, over tighten so it bows down in the middle to help stop it from sliding, then tighten the ends. If you have multiple layers run dunnage between each layer where that middle strap is to make each bow down, more then 3 or 4 bundles on the stack you want to add another strap partway down, tighten the lower first then upper, after the upper you can usually get another notch tighter on the lower.Last edited: Apr 22, 2023

This bozo better go to church tomorrow, and you call that a headache rack? I did very little flatbed, but the loads I did haul, I always put a chain across the front, just in case of a sudden brake application. "Can't stop on a dime", what an idiot. Can you imagine the chaos if they did?. Good thing he didn't have a drivers helper in the jump seat.
Big Road Skateboard, drvrtech77 and Stringb8n Thank this. -
Was gonna say.......
Just how fast do you have to be going and how hard do have to hit the brakes in order to go through 2 windows?
This ain't 4 wheeler error. This is piss poor driving / securement.LOTSO, Diesel Dave, Oxbow and 4 others Thank this. -
He should have done his research on proper securement.Diesel Dave, buddyd157 and Big Road Skateboard Thank this.

He could have also set the load on 4x4 up in the front to angle it up and kind of put some bend to the front part. But yeah, everybody ELSE needs to do the research....yeah, right. Dude is lucky his head wasn't whopped off. Maybe he was on the phone and distracted. Says his wife calmed him "from the time of the incident". That would definitely imply he was perhaps on the phone.
LOTSO, Diesel Dave, ducnut and 3 others Thank this.
