They are just like other salespeople. They get paid to "sell" their company to prospective drivers. I think you can figure it out...
-
Recriuters are like fishermen, they net you in with promises but the truth is more fiction.Plus, during orientation they dig all your bones out of the closet, and then dump you.I just went to an orientation in MN,and thru a fault of mine I was eliminated, and they dumped me there without even a ride to the bus that I was going to pay for.I live in Tampa.
They were starting a new contract and they had no clue what was up and down, but the recruiter sold us a picture perfect story, and I bought it. -
ok I used a lady named Kim at Swift. You wont believe me but she told me exactly the truth! everything was just what she said it would be. she said 3 days oreintation we had 2.5 really she said the money was low to start and it was. she said bring two weeks worth of clothes and most of all a lot of patience and she was right. So yes there are some honest ones, but they are Rare. kind of like good wives you have to do your homework to find a good one.

Honest Recruiter?.... Oxymoron? LOL
Elvenhome21 and TruckPreacher Thank this. -
Our Covenant recruiter told the students they would paint the truck their favorite color as long as it was white with a red and blue stripe. -
They are usually about as honest as the company they recruit for !!!!!!!!!!!

This. You can tell alot about a company be the recruiter. -
All it takes is a bit of charisma, it can make anyone believe.

I know of 2 companies that I have dealt with that the recruiters were on the level. Maverick and mercer. The recruiter that lied to me more than anybody was prime.
