over modulated and splattering 10 channels each way seems to be the norm....
-
And they still wonder why the guys on 10 meters get upset ?
-
I live close to a truck stop, one night the bleed over was pretty bad so I dropped down to check it out......this is what I found..
-
Yeah...Mine moves to the right...All the way to 9600w's on a Bird! And have stuck a 10,000w slug in the corner before at just 18v's...
And just a side note...There is no distortion in my transmit...No Splattering, and unless your just sitting right beside me at a Stop Light, you will only hear me on whatever channel my radio is tuned to at the time...
And to answer the original question...A good starter Amp is the Texas Star line of Amp's...These things can take a beating and keep on ticking. They are very forgivable to set-ups that are not perfectly tuned. Some of the Custom Box's like Davemade (which I run) and Fatboy, and XForce, are not so forgiving... -
And at 10KW how did you measure distrotion ? What kind of scope did you use ? and how big a attenuator did it take ? REMEMBER at 10,000 watts with all noise and trash down 40 DB your still looking at ONE WATT of wide band noise ...... -
What kind of radio did you use to get that NEET DISPLAY ? -
Pro-II ??? -
COOL ! I love it !
-
My Mirage came back today ...... I'm back to 150 on 2 SSB ....
