Ha! We're practically neighbors, I grew up and now currently live in Kane County, not by choice, I'm only here to take care of my disabled Mom, but yeah, I hear you on distrust of goobermint.

It's just like Levi's, they haven't seen a single dime from my pocket since the day the announced they were pulling out of the truckstops that carried their product because (and this a paraphrase, I don't recall the exact verbiage,) they didn't want to be associated with nasty truckers.

I sure loved my 517 bootcut button-flys, but I never bought another pair. Nowadays, they don't make anything but pretty boy jeans that most of us wouldn't buy anyways.

No, you hear the sound of not wanting to get any more political than it already has.

But if you insist- changing the resign to run law is the latest.

The Reedy Creek kerfuffle- using government powers to attack one specific company on ideological grounds.

Then there was the flying migrants from texas to Martha's vineyard using tax payer money.

Whether you agree or disagree with these policies/actions is a moot point - they were all done with a primary purpose to make national headlines and raise his profile for a presidential run.

performing your sworn duties as governor and representing the people who elected you can not be considered for personal gain.
And Reedy Creek is about the poorest example you could ever pick.
I have a private company how come I’m not allowed to “self govern”?
I doesn’t look like much “equity” there when one’s allowed but not others?
A “private government” within a state government should never exist.
Let’s allow a huge company to “self govern themselves” what could possibly go wrong?
Maybe we should allow big companies like Werner and swift to “self govern” their own dot safety and compliance programs and not be subject to hours of service, audits and road side inspections like the rest of us must comply with?

As I said - I don't want to argue the politics. However changing a law to suit one person's political ambitions is the definition of self service. If they want to change "resign to run" - okay, make it effective for any election after 2024 and see how it stops being a priority.

You want to end the "investment districts" - okay, do so. However picking ONE district, to punish ONE company, and doing it in such a rush and haphazard manner that it almost left Florida taxpayers on the hook for $1 Billion in bonds makes it appear to be motivated by personal political gain, not the interests of the state. Eliminating Reedy Creek in an effective manner would have taken too long - the press cycle would have ended and he would have gotten nothing from it.

Using Florida resources to in two different states for a one off stunt seemed designed to raise his national awareness, not deal with the problem.

If the Governor succeeds in stripping Disney of the original agreement that brought Disney to Florida in the first place all the tax burden and debt will fall on Orange and Osceola counties tax payers. No matter what anyone believes this all started when Disney made a public statement against the "Don't say gay bill" of the Governor. No freedom of speech here.
