Second verse, same as the first
Yellow Corporation Reports First Quarter 2023 Results (yahoo.com)
Net loss for first quarter 2023 was $54.6 million, or $1.06 per share, compared to net loss of $27.5 million, or $0.54 per share in the first quarter 2022.

How is it even possible that a company can continue to loose money quarter over quarter and year or year and decade over decade, and still be in business?

Good question. When I worked at Yellow, everything was falling apart. The dock was falling apart, the trucks were falling apart, the forklifts were falling apart, the yard goat was falling apart... They would not invest a single penny back into the terminal. And it certainly wasn't driver pay or benefits that were eating into profits.

The money is going somewhere though...

That is basically half of the public companies listed on the markets.. Or so it seems.. It is a good question to ask.. A question im not sure we will ever find the answer to until the companies ultimately go under.

but Ubers investors are starting to feel the pinch, reason why Uber has resulted in taking bigger percentage of the cost of a ride. Averaging at about 65-75%

    bzinger Thanks this.

I wonder if YRC didn’t get the free money from taxpayers, if they would even exist.
