See I'm in California I forgot about a couple tickets so court put a hold on my license until paid . I know my fault.. so I paid them in full hold is off my license. I wanna go get my CDL A , but concerned that it counts as a suspended license and a mega carrier SAYS NO SUSPENDED IN LAST 1 YEAR .that I don't fit requirements. ANY THOUGHTS?
Is a hold the same as a suspended license?

What are the tickets for?
Speeding? A 15 mph over is reckless driving.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
I am curious, I never heard of a hold on a license before. Is this just a California thing?
Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
A hold is a suspension, the wording will say suspended, not "on hold" Get a ticket, I mean citation, don't settle it, license gets suspended until you settle . A little friendly advice,,,,keep your license squeaky clean.

The license was actually suspended. The date it was reinstated is the date you need to start from. Probably the best action is to wait one full year from the date the license was reinstated. Now you need to keep that license clean. Not even a parking ticket. Then you can work on getting the CDL. You will have a much better chance of getting hired at a reasonable company this way.

Look at third level regional carriers, agricultural work, and rock haulers.Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this. -
It's been many years since I lived in California. But I had my license suspended because I didn't pay a fine. Got everything back and 2 months later I had a CDL. When they ran my MVR the suspension for fine non payment didn't show. Might be different now.
