Yep, you're right.
Here's the dealeao.......
Spend $20k, $30k, $40k and more to express to express to the world just how bad aaaa a trucker you are, while the rest of us plan to retire with that money in the bank.
It's almost like being 18 again. Stupid and selfish.
But it's all good.

Fortunately there’s even still some company guys left who regard this behavior as beneath them and take pride in what they do.FerrissWheel, Crude Truckin', dosgatos and 8 others Thank this.

So, because a guy showers on a regular basis, cares for his appearance, builds a custom rig…etc, he’s trying to prove to you all that he’s some sort of a bad arse? How do you know this?FerrissWheel, classic_150, Crude Truckin' and 7 others Thank this.

Jus sayin

Did you know that owning a largecar meant that you were trying to prove to the world that you were a bad arse? I had no idea!FerrissWheel, Crude Truckin', JolliRoger and 4 others Thank this.

Well, let's do it the other way.
Just because a driver works for a mega or whatever, how does that mean he doesn't care about his appearance or his hygiene?
I know I worked for a mega and I can promise you, you wouldn't have been ashamed to be seen with me.
Seriously, are the guys with their own rigs the only ones who take showers and dress appropriately?
Is that your point? -
Pseudo valid point, but a question for a question is a psychological distraction.
-
I personally don’t care. It isn’t my equipment or my money, so from where I sit I have little reason to complain about how somebody else spends theirs.
Speaking from a practicality standpoint it isn’t something I would do personally, but they are nice to look at.
And @TripleSix is right about one thing. The so-called “drivers” that he describes who as far as I’m concerned are a disgrace to this industry, which would be the type who shows up at a customer dressed like a derelict with the dirty sweatpants and shower shoes, are never seen climbing out of one of the trucks we’re discussing here. They don’t take any personal pride in themselves. Why should their equipment take any higher priority?FerrissWheel, Crude Truckin', God prefers Diesels and 7 others Thank this. -
You brought up sexual relations with a woman in a discussion about custom rigs. What does building a custom rig have to do with having sex? I don’t see a connection. You are saying there is a connection. Well, connect it so that I can understand.FerrissWheel, Crude Truckin', JolliRoger and 2 others Thank this.

In my operation I hate pulling pups with a tandem axle that has the fifth wheel slid back. It seems to me like that makes them a lot more twitchy. One of these extra long wheelbase rigs would only compound that problem.
Pups actually pull pretty good with my single screw with the fifth wheel slid forward.FerrissWheel, Crude Truckin' and Jubal Early Times Thank this.
