Some people like the tools of their trade to be fit for purpose.

And that fine too. I’m actually one of them, but I can certainly appreciate the amount of effort that people take to have a custom truck. Even if it’s impractical. It’s almost like art. I can appreciate fine art even if it’s not something I want in my house.

I agree with you. If you operate a lot on the east coast and need a short wheelbase…. Run vocational and oversized, need the bumper and double frame..your a cdl mill give ‘‘em a t680, if you are trying to reward a hard working produce guy, give him a large car… same if you got a boy that has worked on the farm more than played basketball or video games and you want him to reward him…the pretty trucks and dress are now a bygone era in the me generation. But some still try. I get that some would rather put 20k in their 401k but some have really no idea that some of the trucks and trailers are half a million rigs. The guys owning some of them are worth in millions. It’s their ride or their kinfolks ride to move grain to the mill. Or a truck that is the prize of the fleet and goes to the shows to represent the trucking company. Sexual intercourse has nothing to do with that.

I love when people are argueing over things when they probably agree on the main points.

Are those trucks you guys are posting with the super stretches nice? They are well maintained, clean, nice paint job, polished chrome etc, so yes they are nice and show pride.

Is an extra 8-10+ feet between the back of the sleeper and the trailer practical? Probably not, with the exception of the one guy who posted an oversized beam sticking off the front. Its not going to do anything pulling a box.

Its the same as someone with a ridiculous wing spoiler on the back of a car, its not doing anything functional for the car other than cause more drag.

The only good looking stretched trucks have no hoods.

I always liked the look of those stretched out trucks cause they usually got them well taken care of. Only thing I cannot understand is why they decide to stick to a coffin sleeper instead of putting a condo or studio sleeper.

You don't reckon there just might be different tools, for different jobs?

Maybe acroos the width and breadth of the US, there might be places a fella don't need to blind side alley dock.

Not sure if blind side alley dock is a thing, but it sounded good

They need to save those pounds from those extra long frame rails somewhere.

It doesn’t have to be practical. I’m not driving it, they are. It’s their money too.

I can look at it and appreciate it for what it is though. Just like a fine looking woman. Most aren’t very practical either, but I can sure appreciate the looks of one. It’s silly and makes people look catty to say they do it because they have a short pecker.

I’m not big on a stretched cabover. But I’m ok if a guy has one. I’m sure his ##### is of average length.
