Do you have to be able to go into Canada to be hired on by Roehl?
I havent seen the prerequisites for Roehl anywhere on their site, what are they?

Roehl wants you to have a passport. Even if you don't make a delivery they will at times route you thru Canada.

All of you thinking of starting your career with Roehl, I did, over 2 1/2 yrs. ago and I feel it was a good move and as good a place as most to start and get some experience. Though this still applies, unfortunately the company has changed greatly in the past 1 1/2 to 2 years at an alarmingly accelerating rate. I can't say why but I believe it is more than coincidence that during this time, from what I understand, Everitt pretty much put the reins in Ricks hands who holds them in tandem with Ray Gabriel, a man who loves his software and numbers but is absolutely clueless about drivers or how to keep them. As a very new trucker you will find it easier having every aspect of driving your truck micro managed from exact routes to exact fuel stops etc. When you gain experience you will begin to chafe under these restrictions and unfortunately may find it a bit harder to figure things out when you finally realize you can go to a company that requires the experience you've gained and allows you discretion to plan and think on your own.
There are good things about Roehl, still, but there have become more and more bad for those who have the experience to choose to move on. If you look around on other forums you will find a great change in the comments over the past two years or so. This should clue you in. Get your experience and then, like the majority of drivers now, move on to greener pastures. That is what I'm in the process of doing now that I can. Good luck to you all and remember, the street runs both ways, don't just let Roehl use you, use them as well to get what you deserve and need to move on thereby giving them what they ultimately deserve... a buncha newbs and steering wheel holders. -
can you use inverters in roehl trucks?
-
Yes. The large ones over I think 400 watts must be installed by Roehl I've heard. With luck,ou won't need one and will bet one of the about 50 percent of trucks equipped with APUs.

####y,
Thanks for your comment on Roehl as I start orientation in April. I haven't heard a bad thing about the company and that is why I chose it. I'm glad to know about time at home on weekends. -

They did mine, and then 6 months later, they put an APU on the truck! Nice to have the APU, but I would have liked to save the $150! -
