Ok awesome. Yeah I will do that on the DL then and see if I can’t stir up some business.
-
Yeah I totally know what you mean. I drove through there and I saw the flooding and I don’t know if it’s connected or not but the vans and even the reefers slowed down. So I bet you flatbeds really got hit hard.

When I was a company driver for the company I’m running for now is an owner they had a mileage bonus program that I had heard about. I guess if you hit 13,500 miles you got like $500 or $1000 I don’t remember. But anyway one month I did over 15,000 miles so I asked about the bonus. They told me they had discontinued it because nobody was hitting it. Both the owner and the head of dispatchers didn’t believe it. They made my dispatcher double and triple verify the mileage.
They ended up giving me a small bonus anyway. I guess I guilted them into it. -
It was actually a little bit of cheating because I had a Greensboro North Carolina to Las Vegas run that delivered on the first of the month. So I started the month on day one with 2300 miles or whatever. But on paper it was over 15,000 miles for the month. Not sure how I did that either. I don’t think I could do any of that stuff now.
Stringb8n Thanks this. -
I was kinda kidding about the Navy bud but hope things work out for you being an O/O does have its perks, but it also comes at an expense too, your always responsible for the maintenance, if your not getting enough freight there's no pay check at the end of the month, if you borrowed money that puts you under a lot of stress, working for another company takes all that stress away, all you'll have to worry about now is will the receiver/ dispatch give me any curry, or will they send me to NYC?
-
Be sure to say that when you interview or bump into a Navy vet on here looking for O/O’s.
I appreciate your service in the Guard.Siinman Thanks this. -
It’s a long running joke between the services. They would say the same thing about us Army guys. Sorry if it caused offense I thought we were kidding around.Siinman and Opendeckin Thank this.
