Well I won't be opening up Tibbitts tire shop anytime soon.. Those things kicked my ### good ! Got all drives and steers on... think it was mostly just the heat that got me.. Next time I'll be doing them in winter or least cooler weather
Where is everyone #5

FD663 Firestone for the drives?
Looks like the pattern but hard to tell from this lil phone screen.. I like them.
Doing tires in the heat will make a man out of a guy quick!! Lol
Just be thankful you don't own any 17.5's. They're a bear. The guy in IL who gets me tires let me struggle with one for half an hr just laughing it up. Got one off, but couldn't mount it to save my life. Then showed me where the tire machine was hiding.. Lol
Opens just wide enough for those little guys..
Tall 22.5 & the lo pro 24.5 I can do with the spoons, just couldn't make it happen on them darn 17.5's..
Flint1, cke, DeereRunner97 and 4 others Thank this. -
Great eye ! Yep I went with those firestones . Seems nobody stocks open shoulder tires down here they had to ship them from San Diego to Yuma where I picked them up. Wanted continental instead but couldn't find any drives.. So tried out these firestones . Went with continental hs3+ on the steers.. I had good luck with those on blue bird.. Gonna keep the old steers as a spare and take 1 on the road with me..11r22.5 all around..
I bought one of those golden buddy demounting tool and mounting tool...makes it a hell of a lot easier then just tire irons or prybars.. Still a workout for sure though..especially in the heat. 10 hours for 10 tires and probably 6 hours of that was just sitting in the shade lolFlint1, cke, DeereRunner97 and 6 others Thank this. -
Only reason I went with Michelin drives is because it was the only tire I could get 8 of in 4 states sized 11r24.5. Even with the advantage program it’s expensive as it gets.
I hear you about changing tires. There’s a shop here in San Antonio that pays its tire changers by the mount or dismount instead of hourly. Even at 105 outside these dudes are fast as lightening. Good workout I bet.Flint1, cke, singlescrewshaker and 5 others Thank this. -
Several years ago I pulled in at Southern Tire Mart in Waco to get 4 drives. They put two guys on it and 30 minutes after I pulled in I was rolling back out! This was middle of the summer too but those guys knew how to hustle.
Flint1, cke, Isafarmboy and 6 others Thank this. -
I changed out the 11r24.5 on steel wheels steers recently. When a fellow is knocking on the door of 60 (well, I'm closer to wiping my feet on the door mat) that goes down as "something else I did this week without giving myself a heart attack, hooray!".

2 more dead alligators, both in the 7-8' range on hwy 39 at the manatee/polk county line this am. Been watching for that my whole life, only now starting to actually see it.. The human invasion must be happening fast here..
Flint1, Big Road Skateboard, Gatordude and 10 others Thank this. -
Haven’t ate anything since yesterday worth anything. Won’t eat all of this probably, but beats a cookie…

Speaking of gators... last seen blowing by the Asheville, NC scale, kicking up chunks of pavement like a dog kicks up grass after they take a #### lol.
