Ya know, why in the world does it seem like the vehicles built in foreign countries are far more sturdy than the ones we get here in the United States? Most of those cars looked like they could be driven home. In Texas, however, crumpled up beer cans is what it would have looked like.

Because american junkers are 87% emissions control and "safety" devices with 13% being made of crap materials like moulded plastic and low grade cast steel. Also iirc china uses KPH and they go a fair bit slower @Chinatown likely knows better then i though.

I bought a used car in China. Didn't keep it long because public transportation is cheap and plentiful.
Didn't see the benefit of owning a car, plus insurance, plus liability in case of an accident. I purchased a parking spot right in front of my condo and used it for easy access to my yard for my motorcycle. Still own the parking space and the condo.

    Aluminum,
i haul parts to ford plants. I sat near to adjustment area where ones coming off line have door fit issues. While waiting for dock. I saw the fellow pushing on door against rubber mallet For issues of door seal near window and pillar. Also a lot of striking frame where door latch grabs the jab on body.

Partly because the "crumpling" absorbs energy in a crash helping to protect the passengers. I saw a video comparing older vs newer US cars. Older had far less damage to car but the test dummy was a goner. Newer car had major damage but the test dummy walked away ( so to speak)

Who knew slave child labor makes good cars. Seriously though I believe it’s the speed. Remember the black ice crash videos in Dallas earlier? FedEx truck almost went airborne it hot going so fast.

Vehicle size might be a factor.
Weren't any jacked-up editions of whatever silly slogan the manufacturer put on it's latest model. Values, ego & pecker length don't seem to be as correlated to your ride in Asia as they do in the US.

Edit: And my PV is a Suzuki sX4 Sport.... itty bitty weewee.... The gals call it "cute"!
