Hello,
My ABS light is on and solid. We are getting a SID 231 error (J1939). ABS light comes on when key is on. If we start the truck and clear the codes (light goes out), we can drive the truck around for 5-10 minutes with no issues. Turn the truck off, and key back on, the light will come back on. Does anyone know the initialization process of the ABS module? After reading several J1939 threads, it may not even be ABS related it seems (?)? Just trying to pinpoint a good starting position. We are about to confirm we have 60 ohms at diagnostic port, engine ECM, and ABS module, which appear to be the ends of the J1939 bus. If all of those check out, what are appropriate next steps?

Is there a way to test the ABS module and/or see a list of parameters in the module? The truck was equipped with Eaton VORAD, but only the CPU is still there. I got linked up with an engineer that used to be with Eaton, and we have unplugged the unit per his direction. He mentioned only parameters for this should be in engine ECU. Just want to confirm theres nothing in the ABS module.Last edited: May 15, 2023

Heard back from Wabco, ABS module is good per Wabco. Planning on taking truck to Cummins once i get the ABS module back and installed to get engine ECU checked.
