I posted al almost duplicate thread yesterday in the “favorite trucking company”, so I’ll start again here.
Does anyone have any experience driving for Sanderson Farms? In my case, it’d be in the south GA area, in either Moultrie or Adel. They’re hiring feed truck drivers on indeed, and they start out at $25 hourly, which is pretty good for this area with overtime. What is it like to drive for them?
I’m currently earning $18.50 hourly driving a dump truck paving roads, so this seems like a big step up in pay. Any reason I may not want to apply with S. Farms?
Edit: This would be a local job, not OTR.

A reason why wouldn't want to apply there......because you don't really want to? Lol drivers are either looking to be persuaded or dissuaded when it comes to making career choices it seems. If the 25 an hour works for you, go for it. Another driver can tell you what it's like to drive for them, but it'd be his own point of view, and it may not tell the story. I'd say go for it, then come back in here and tell us all about it. Then future Sanderson drivers can have a point of reference on here.

They start at $25/hr, or "Up to $25/hr" ?

Well, if a company treats there employees badly, looks to fire people over nothing, doesn’t maintain their trucks properly so DOT is always after you; those would be reasons to not apply there. I’m aware you can’t believe everything that former drivers say, particularly on Indeed. Some employee who gets fired something that’s their fault will often give a false bad review.bryan21384 Thanks this.

Well it seems to take an act of congress to get fired from a trucking job. I can't speak for the feed drivers but looking at the equipment they have in terms of the reefer drivers, it looks the part. They're a big time company so I can't imagine them having bad equipment. The fact that reviews are often one-sided is definitely a reason why I think talking to other drivers is slightly over-rated. I'd say that's a good local job for sure.Zonno Thanks this.
