What mega carriers have tankers?

I think tanker is the best part of trucking. I liked doing it. I would recommend anyone try to work for Indian River Transport, Oakley Transportation of Lake Wales FL, Western Dairy Transport, and Quality Carriers (if y ou have 1 year of CDL driving) as good places to start. Many tanker companies only hire drivers with 1-2 years experience. Get that experience and then go tanker. You can't ignore the world and your truck and stay in trucking like many new drivers do in dry van, reefer, etc. It's not for everyone. It's great for careful and responsible drivers. The tanker customers are a league above most other non-tanker customers.

I would agree with the above -- but with one caveat: get tanker & pump-off training elsewhere -- before going to Oakley Transport, in Lake Wales, FL.

Their tanker training is pretty darn short & quick.

Quality Carrier had pretty thorough training. I think you spend 4 or 5 days getting HazMat and tanker unloading training. Much of that is them scaring the bejeesus out of you about the massive fines a driver can receive with certain mistakes, scaring you to death about wearing enough PPE to survive a nuclear blast and an acid bath. After that week fo training you ride with a tanker trainer for 3-10 days for hands-on experience. But I believe they only hire drivers with 1 year of CDL experience and you will be required to be clean shaven.

Research research research can’t stress that enough about looking for the right tanker company, met a few drivers who’ve worked for the QC’s, Schneiders ect ect of the world and boy they weren’t happy lots of lies and broken promises. We all know the key magical words of make up to xxxx amount per year only to never come close to what’s being advertised.

JB has some tanker work depending on where you live. I helped out on a tanker account for a few days last week.

Indian River takes students. I know because I’m going to them. Also, I believe their training program is six weeks long with a trainer.

There are many different tanker divisions you can go in. It depends if you want to drive OTR or local

I'm a tanker driver for 8 yrs now.it has its drawbacks. I really like delivering gas and diesel to pilot/flying j. It's home everyday for me. At 80000 to 100000 depends on if you like working 70 a week.
