Relax at the Buddhist Temple. In the background see the island. Barely visible is another Buddhist Temple on top of the island mountain. Good exercise hiking to the top, then visiting the Buddhist Temple. Take a ferry to get to the island.
Yes, I own a home there. What did I learn? The fake news is lying. It's very safe and crime isn't something to worry about. Met a guy from Rochester, NY and his wife and mine are from neighboring fishing villages. He and I use to get drunk and go motorcycle riding. No matter where we went, any area or time of night, we never had to worry about being mugged or mistreated. If we got lost and too drunk to find our way home, the people were understanding and always gave us directions or made sure we got home safely. We never felt threatened. Americans are welcomed there as long as we offer mutual respect. I have friends in the Communist Party and in the Uyghur community. They're no different from us, irregardless of what the fake news report. I've been to their homes for meals and socialization and they're very accommodating to Americans that are respectful and open to other cultures, as they are.
I needed medical opinion on my Type 2 diabetes and pre-cancerous spots on my face. A guy I met that my wife already knew, said, "ok, I'll take care of it." He scheduled an appointment for me at the PLA Navy Hospital, because I'm a US Navy veteran. Yep, they accepted me and relieved my worries and gave me prescriptions. The doctor said, "This is the first time we've met an American Navy sailor." The bill was at cost plus a couple of dollars.
Here's another example; this singer is a wonderful American citizen that was born and raised and died in California. I've recommended her singing and some have called her ##### lover and traitor. Far from the truth. Takes an open mind to see the truth.
For the CDL program it's 4 weeks in house, then 2 with a TE on the road, then one more week to test out. As far as company provided CDL training, it's best in industry. Only way you'll find better schooling is to go to a PTDI certified community College. If you already have your cdl, then it's two weeks at an OC, 1 week on the road with a TE and someone will chuck a set of keys at your forehead. Catch them and you have a job. Great program for those with motivation, not for those who still haven't been weaned from momma. Driving for schneider is a fine gig. I don't like the new pay structure, but the Molemen and Lizard People running the show are generally competent and genuinely supportive.
