you know how hard it is to hire a driver?
Siinman and Old_n_gray Thank this. -
This is true.
I have a good friend who's running his own authority asking me to work for him; however, my plans on operating my own authority is something I'm waiting on but leased on with a good company that's been keeping me busy and pays more.
Quality drivers are no longer a dime a dozen.! -
LOL
Quality drivers have NEVER been a dime a dozen -
You can have one truck running under your own authority and another truck leased on somewhere else…….
Old_n_gray Thanks this. -
Yes you can but you better have a lot of extra money! Drivers don't care about your equipment and will run to a shop to change a light instead of taking 10 mins and do it themselves. They will abuse the #### out of it also. Probably quit and force you to hire a tow truck and pay storage till you can fly down and get the truck.
That's if they don't try to sell everything off it first.77fib77 and Old_n_gray Thank this. -
That is not true..there are some good drivers out here that take care of people equipment and do right!! The problem is finding a honest company that will pay a driver a fair rate not play games with the money and Miles and not to be mad greedy and not be fair with the driver!!

You can believe in what you yourself have come up with. This does not change the fact that finding a good driver will be extremely difficult. Especially since you probably won't be able to offer incredibly good pay for a good driver.

If you don't mind me asking what company are you lease owner op with? Also need to ask do you mean you have your own truck and you're leased on, or you're leasing a truck and running as owner op?
I'm currently looking to lease a truck and run as owner op, done it before and should've toughed it out until the initial fees were paid off but got impatient. -
Good drivers are a rare breed these days.
Finding good companies that take care of their equipment is also a rare breed.
