MY quip today is on C-PAP requirements. ! First they destroyed perfect harmony on 8 hr rule 5/5 split rest periods by throwing us the new BETTER? 11 HR RULE ! Team driving was in perfect harmony with 5/5 split sleeper before ( opionion) then they throw a coconut at us by making a C-PAP required to drive AND even Maintain a CDL if you're?? sick?? and in the end it just made people's health miserable and worse.I myself had gone tru c-pap misery and hated the stupid machine from day 1... WHAT GOVERMENT WANTS GOVERMENT GETS ! End of story

Well, might want to point the finger at the correct place. Nowhere does "the government" require CPAP. FMCSA does have it listed as a recommendation, but as it's not required it's on the clinic doing the DOT physical. Just find a DOT clinic that doesn't push the CPAP crap.

Yeah, went in for a DOT physical a few years back. Wasnt even a doctor that looked at me, it was a LPN that had never done one before. Kept running out (to the doctor I assume) and back and finally put me down as 40+ BMI (I wasnt even close - I am over 250 pounds, over 55, and I guess my neck measured at 14.5 in - which are all flags, but nothing that screams sleep apnea) so they said I had to go to their (surprise) affiliated "sleep study" specialist and gave me a 6 month card. (I had a complete VA physical including blood work a year prior to this and was pre-diabetic and my good cholesterol was 2 points low - everything else was great). I waited 5 months and went to a chiropractor and have gotten nothing but 2 year cards ever since.
