At the time I worked at Sun Coast Resources, they were a ‘tobacco free’ workplace, with the exception of ‘designed area’, all trucks no matter if company owned, or PacLease units were strictly forbidden for any tobacco usage, including vaping. Don’t know if that rule still applies, as Sun Coast Resources is not owned by RelaDyne of Cinncinnati OH.

I been vaping since 2013 and it's been a blessing getting off cigarettes. For flammables I wouldn't vape near but carry e-juice, pour some on finger and rub into your gums for a quick nic fix.
Some people "stealth vape" but I wouldn't recommend because hiding anything is never a good idea, but the trick is to run 80% propylene glycol, 15% flavor, 5% nicotine. I tend to "chase clouds" with 95% vegetable glycerin, no flavor, 5% nicotine. Propylene Glycol does not emit as much "smoke" and Vegetable Glycerin.
As for health, it is absolutely BETTER THAN CIGARETTES! Cigarettes contain over 200 chemicals including arsenic and formaldehyde. My vape juice that I mix myself contains only 2 ingredients: 1) Vegetable glycerin (very common in foods approved by FDA) 2) Food-grade Nicotine (just as bad as caffeine).
FUN FACT: If you have ever consumed Potatoes or Tomatoes, then you have consumed Nicotine. Yes, they NATURALLY CONTAIN NICOTINE! No wonder Pizza and French Fries can be so addicting haha.
Yes, buying e-juice from shops is risky and a lot of "cheap" vape juice comes from China which seems to be the only juice anti-vape people target to push their agenda. Mixing your own juice is incredibly easy (youtube tutorials), safe if you take proper precautions, insanely cheap in comparison to buying pre-made juice, and it's great because you can customize it.
As for the supposed "metal intake" over 80% of modern coils use Kanthal wire not Nickel. It would take over 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit for Kanthal to even begin emitting fumes. Most vapes go from 200-400 degrees. If vaping is "bad for you" then so is cooking food in a metal skillet. OMG, LET'S BAN ALL METAL SKILLETS, haha I could see the media push that bs.
After quitting cigarettes and switching to vaping, I've felt so much healthier, can breathe easier, have more stamina, smell better, and have saved so much money. If you currently smoke cigarettes, take a puff then exhale through a white cloth, do the same with vape and I guarantee you'll have an epiphany and realize cigarettes have so much tar in them it's insane. Vaping isn't perfect, but it's echelons safer than Cigarettes.
Onto the battery explosion scare-tactics... literally EVERY lithium ion battery (including the one in your phone right now) can spontaneously combust! Not all 18650s are created equal, very cheap Chinese ones can fail and explode. People have also incorrectly "modded" their vapes creating too much draw from batteries which can result in catastrophic failure.
If you want to be safe, just buy a Geek Vape mod and tank. Read instructions. Use reputable batteries like Samsung, LG, and Panasonic. Don't "modify" your vape unless you have an electrical engineering degree, lol. And finally, LEARN TO MIX YOUR OWN JUICE! Trust me it's worth it $$$
For those struggling to transition from cigarettes to vaping, try higher percentages like 15% nicotine to get "hooked" on the vape then wean yourself down to 10% and 5% etc. Some people even vape 0% nicotine. I wouldn't recommend 20% as those levels are risky but if you smoke two packs of Marlboro Red 100s a day... like my father did, it'll take higher nicotine. He's been vaping since 2016 and has outlived our relatives who smoked cigarettes to the grave. So it doesn't matter how old you are, quitting cigarettes will always be within your best interest.
Hope this helpsLast edited: Jul 15, 2023
singlescrewshaker Thanks this. -
Levi Garrett helped me quit smoking decades ago. No problem doing it around flammables, no risk of a battery blowing up, and no possible damage to the lungs or the cilia that line the trachea.

As long as it remains in the cab, nobody cares if you're sucking on your douche flute.
