A driver I know has run for them quite some time...solo...and he has an APU in his last two rigs. He runs his all night long when it's cold, but also uses his discretion (and Anti-Gel) when it comes to idling. He's not harassed at all.

I heard a lot of people on here trashing IDC, some of them didin't even work for the company. I've been working at interstate distributors since Jan 2008, sure they have their problems like any other big company, but overall they're far better than the competition.
Negatives: low pay per mile for solos, I think the max is .36 cent, the teams get up to .50 cent.
    1000$ pet deposit.
    Trucks governed at 63 mph.
No brake down pay, detention pay, and they stoped contribution to 401k.
Positives: nobody talks down to u in that company.
Best trucks hands down, some of the trls are a bit old.
U can participate in 401k from day one.
No forced dispatch, that's right, company drivers r not forced to accept any load.
If u decide where to work by money alone, here's the truth: 2008 I made over 33,000$ and 2009 I made over 38,000$. If u made more than that then stay where u r.

Just seeing how you are doing with them? My hubby has worked for Interstate for over 6 months and it's not looking to promising. Are you still there?

My hubby and I have been considering interstate. We'd heard it was a good company. Now I'm not so sure. No detention pay??? $300 vacation pay, no layover pay? Only $10 extra stop pay. Sounds like the ONLY way to make money with this company is miles. So are there any teams posting on here? Can you tell me what your weekly miles have averaged for the last year or so? And do they get you home on time? Thanks

My hubby has been working with IDC for going on 6 months now. Just to give you the whole story, his first truck they issued him was a POS, no APU, and broke down constantly. He did more sitting by the road than anything his first 2 months there. THEY FINALLY switched his truck after the horrific 2 months of trying to convince them to let him switch. MY hubby is a hard worker, loves his job and never turned down any load; hates sitting and would go to the yard in Lebanon, TN and there would be plenty of brand new trucks not being used. BUT he never argued with them. His truck had no APU and they kept him up north all winter long and of course got onto him about his idle time. RIDICULOUS. They would give him loads that were already late to be picked up/delivered and would question why he couldn't get it delivered on time?! He was telling them what to do most of the time and that some loads he wouldn't get there on time. The dispatchers know NOTHING from what we've experienced. His Fleet Manager is ALWAYS "indisposed." He never gets home on time. The mile pay isn't that good (he got on with them already having a great DAC record and NO accidents with 3 yrs of experience mind you). Just the other day (he's a week late getting home) before Easter Sunday a guy working at dispatch told him to run a load from SC (40 miles from home where he had been sitting for a day already) to Cin. Ohio on Saturday (the day before Easter). The guy in the office told my hubby there would be a load he could pick up and head back down towards the house. He sat all day Saturday, Sun, and most of Mon. They then gave him a load from somewhere in Ohio to go to the Cin. yard and he was told "if you do not take this load, you WILL be fired!" No-forced dispatch my ###! He tried calling Operations manager, his FM, anybody to report a complaint. Then they gave him a load to go to NC (250 miles from home) he has sat all day Tues and heard nothing from anyone unless he calls and they been telling him they have more important things to do than worry about him. Apparaently they have done something new to their computer systems and there has been a problem with them. The fuel cards were deactivated a couple weeks ago.(don't know if that was why, but it was fixed in 24 hrs.)The trucks do 64mph which isn't too bad. I know nothing about the teams, but if you're a company driver, they don't really care anything about you or getting you loads. They would rather you sit a few days until they find you one rather than have the pre-plans hmmm what's the word..."planned out." Also, he doesn't get good miles. He is listed under the SE Regional but they have sent him cross-country before. Maybe OTR is better, but this company has not showed how they are a good company to their drivers based on him and other drivers he's run into unless they have their own truck. He has prolly had more weeks of only 1000 miles than anything, but has had a few good weekly runs. I would have to say though that he's averaging 1200 miles a week since he's worked for them in the 6 months he has. Think real hard before even considering IDC. MY hubby is so stressed out all the time and beginning to hate his job thanks to the BS this company has put him through. This by the way is not EVERYTHING, I just want to stop cause I have to go to work.
