All right, here's the latest. I got home and immediately got the license transferred, copied, faxed and mailed and got in contact with Mr. Erikson and got set up on Friday for a dispatch Monday morning. I ended up in Mogadore, OH at 7 am to meet up with my trainer. We were running a tight timed load so he drove and we booked it to Whiteford, PA (I think) and I got some hands-on experience with untarping and unstrapping a load. Not bad, but we were in a #### dustbowl at that consignee. Bleh... Anyhow, we headed back down to Clearfield, PA for a relay and we crashed out there. I'm happy to say the idling trucks on either side of us didn't keep me up all night... I was a bit worried about that.

We woke up at way before dawn today and got a couple hours drive time before the sun poked up. The load we relayed was headed to Jaynesville, WI and we booked it down I-80 for quite some time. I drove 432 miles today before my trainer took over. Stopped in Gary and as soon as we rolled out we got called back, consignee delayed the delivery. So Gary is where I sit and is thus why I have internet!

So far I'm satisfied with the experience. I can see it being easy to go into road hypnosis and I'm wishing I was riding solo just so I can listen to my music when I'm driving and sing my butt off... great tool for staying alert. But my trainer is very experienced, just over 15 years, 6 trainer of the year awards and 2 driver of the year awards. He likes to turn NPR on on the radio and yell at it... Kinda funny, kinda strange. But all in all, no complaints with him or the job so far. We shall see what tomorrow brings!

You won't have road hypnosis tomorrow, although it's a lot easier now that Blagojevich is out of the way and the Tri-State construction somehow magically went into hyperspeed. Ahem.

Yay, day 7! Feeling pretty good about this still, even after our nightmare on Thursday. We picked up a load from the drop yard just south of Milwaukee and the instant we hooked up to it my trainer looked at the drive air gauge and his eyes bulged out. We scaled it right down the street and it was 38,800 on the drives. Oops. Someone screwed up big time. This was a high priority load going east, needed to be there and installed by Saturday morning, and we weren't going anywhere. We ended up running it back into Milwaukee proper and got extremely lost during the process (driving down Lincoln Memorial by the lake is pretty but not my idea of a good time), ended up back at the truck stop, and then finally got the proper directions and got to where we were going. We got less than 200 miles that day. Every day thus far has been kinda rough on miles. We pulled 437 yesterday, our best yet, all of which I drove. I'm liking this more and more every day even with all the craziness and occasional bs that is happening. We have to be in Wisconsin tomorrow, so we're chilling here at Gary for a little bit to kill some time. I'll keep in touch!

Oh yeah, survey question.... Is it better to pay the $60 a month to get a satellite card for wireless for the computer or get a new phone with unlimited internet access and functionality? Only the cost of the phone and $30 more a month for my cell phone plan. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Did you guys try to slide the tandems forward before heading back to Milwaukee?

Im not completly sure but I think hes training on flatbed. The flats ive been around are spread axle, and cannot be slid like a dryvan.
