500k. Just had the pads changed, although mechanic said they still had life in them... Hendrickson disc brake pad kit was $250 per axle plus labor. Not to bad....
Forgive me if I am way off. Every rig I drove including current had power going to dash switches,- to aux trailer cord next to 7 way. So two cords. Regular 7 way would have nothing to do with the dump valves. Separate plug harness on trailer next to the 7 way harness to allow the smaller aux cord a home. Wore them ran to dump valve actuator. Clear as mud?
Uh, I'm not totally following... My 2019 trailer purchased new in 18 had the standard 7 way along with a 4 way for the dump axle and lift. I had a spare 7 way in the box so instead of purchasing another 4 way plug and wire I had the dealer remove it and throw a 7 way in... free of charge... The dump valve wire is wired directly into the 7 way which use to be a 4 way... I have a 2020 peterbilt 389 so the auxiliary switch that you wire the secondary 7 way into just needs a fuse plugged in to activate the switch and then everything is supposed to be g2g... obviously not. I've been busy so haven't had a chance to crawl under the trailer and check the actual dump valve...after all haven't had a dump valve hooked up in 4 years... With the current load and rates situation I been getting out of my comfort zones doing questionable loads ( probably like most ), after tearing chunks out of my steer tire last week on one of those loads that you couldn't back a Toyota prius into, I decided it's time to reactivate the dump valve before the driver activates and blows up mentally at one of these places. Now you understand sir? I hope... Update on the dump axle Coming soon. Seems every time I turn around something else is requiring my attention. 400k on peterbilt and squealing like a pig, so just picked up new pulley, tensioner, and belt today... shiny new steers last week replacing the michelin with 90k miles on them... It never ends...... Just tried to purchase a new lock latch " peterbilt" specific and they wanting a whopping $450 for this latch... Rolling with the bungie on my box is driving my nuts... I'm ready 4 vacation. Coming soon!!!
What the hell man. That should be a $50 part at most. Seems I would be replacing that lock with something else. Would never give 450 for a lock. They are on crack to say the least and I would tell them how I felt about it as well. Ha ha
Ya they claim $1600 for a new box, did some Google searching and came up with this, so gonna call them tomorrow. Seems a no brainer provided this price is current...
Click or call (509)536-8499 for more information. Peterbilt Latch/lock/lever #788510 at Spokane Valley, WA Looks like this might work. Might have to drill new top holes
I'll call and post pictures of the latch tomorrow. It's in the shape of a S, so what you posted won't work. Thank you for posting it though. Much appreciated
